A Franchise Best

The New York Mets went 108 - 54 in the 1986 season. This remains the franchise's best record to date. The only two other times they had 100 wins or more was in 1969 under Gil Hodges and in 1988 under Davey Johnson whose direction they were also under in '86.

Below are some of the players who were vital in achieving this record:

1986 Let's Go Mets!

To start off Mets week we thought we'd highlight 1986 and what better way to do it then with the Lets Go Mets music video. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

1986 was a big year for the Mets ball club. Under manager Davey johnson they won 108 games. In the post season they first defeat the Houston Astros to move on to the World Series. Although it was not an easy task they wound up clinching the title in Game 7 to win the franchise's second World Championship.
