March 23, 1955, Moses Eugene Malone was born in Petersburg, Virginia. He played in the ABA (American Basketball Association) as well as the NBA (National Basketball Association). A three time NBA MVP, Malone went straight from Petersburg High School to being drafted in 1974 by the ABA's Utah Stars. After a twenty one year professional basketball career and nineteen seasons in the NBA Moses finished with a championship ring and a NBA finals trophy won with his Philadelphia 76ers teammates in 1983, also being named the NBA Finals MVP that year. He has a laundry list of honors earned during his career that we could go on and on about. (Click below to read more of his stats and honors)

We thought we would celebrate his birthday with this awesome Sports Illustrated Cover from June 6, 1983 pictured at the top and include his Mitchell & Ness home and road jerseys from that same year! Hope you enjoy!
