Remembering Casey

Did you know?  Casey Stengel hit the first home run out of Brooklyn's Ebbets Field Stadium on April 26, 1913. In total, Stengel was a player, manager, and coach on 18 professional teams. Known for his interesting use of words, Casey's language was referred to as Stengelese. Some examples of this are "butcher boy" (a chopped ground ball), "enbalmed" (sleeping), "plumber" (a good fielder) and "worm killers" (low balls.)
