On July 9, 1968, Major League Baseball played the first indoor All Star Game at the Houston Astrodome. The game was dominated by pitching with both teams only managing a total of eight hits. The only run of the game was scored in the first inning on a combination of a single, an error, a wild pitch and a double play. The single came from lead off hitter Willie Mays in the bottom of the first inning. Luis Tiant was on the mound for the AL and he tried to pick Mays off at first. The ball got past first baseman Harmon Killebrew and Mays took off for second. Tiant then threw a wild pitch to Curt Flood and Mays ended up at third. Willie scored the only run of the game when Willie McCovey grounded into a double play.
That's all folks, the only run scored in the first inning. Can you guess who the MVP was?

MVP Willie Mays singles and later scored the only run in the 39th Annual MLB All Star Game
