A little more on Cubs legend Ron Santo who passed away yesterday.

"Click Your Heels"

The City of Chicago and Major League Baseball lost an iconic figure yesterday evening. Ron Santo passed away in an Arizona hospital last night of complications from bladder cancer. Since retiring in the mid 70s, Santo has had multiple surgeries on his eyes, heart and bladder to remove cancer. If that weren’t enough, Santo was also a Type 1 diabetic, and the disease would eventually cost him both his legs. In 1990, Santo joined the radio broadcast team for the Cubs and his radio color commentary made him an instant fan favorite. After spending his entire career in the city of Chicago (13 with the Cubs and 1 with the White Sox), and even vetoing a trade that would have sent him elsewhere, Santo’s passing is a true loss to the Windy City and the great game of baseball.
R.I.P. Ron Santo
