On December 20, 1966, the NBA awarded a franchise to the city of Seattle. The Seattle SuperSonics began play in the 1967-68 NBA season at the Seattle Center Coliseum. The SuperSonics reached the playoffs for the first time in the 1974-75 season. In their 1978-79 season, the team won their first NBA Championship defeating the Washington Bullets 4 games to 1.
Coming next month, it's the 1995 - 96 Seattle SuperSonics.
