Champions of the 2000's

Sports Illustrated today named the LA Lakers the franchise of the decade.  We can't argue with their four NBA Championships in ten years.  The Patriots and Spurs each won three titles, but the Lakers were the only to win four.

We were discussing all of the titles that were won over the past ten years.  It's pretty tough to remember them all so here they are for your reading and remembering pleasure.

For us Philly folks the 2008 Phillies World Series certainly means the most and is the one we will remember forever.  Next to that, it's the '05 Super Bowl when our Eagles couldn't hold on against the Patriots.  If we were pressed to choose a championship that didn't involve our home town heroes, we'd probably go with the '04 World Series Championship for the Boston Red Sox.  Unforgettable.

Now it's you turn Mitchell & Ness facebook friends.  Tell us what your favorite championship memories of the 2000's are.  And if so inclined, let us know who you think is poised to be the team of the next decade.  We're going with the Phils.

The 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White SoX by going 99-63 in the regular season (Best in the AL and for going wire-to-wire in 1st) and going 11-1 in the postseason. An ALDS sweep of the defending W.S. champ in Beantown, Back-to-Back-to-Back-to-Back Complete Game Victories to win the AL Pennant in SoCal & a Sweep of the 'Stros to end 88 years of misery. Couldn't complain one bit the way the SoX won it all & will cherish skipping out on school to attend the W.S. parade that took place in the streets of Downtown Chicago.

The team poised to be a powerhouse for the upcoming decade resides on Chicago's Westside. The young core of Kane-Toews-Keith with vets like Hossa and Sharp should lead the Chicago Blackhawks to Lord Stanley's Cup quite a few times!
