March 23, 1955, Moses Eugene Malone was born in Petersburg, Virginia. He played in the ABA (American Basketball Association) as well as the NBA (National Basketball Association). A three time NBA MVP, Malone went straight from Petersburg High School to being drafted in 1974 by the ABA's Utah Stars. After a twenty one year professional basketball career and nineteen seasons in the NBA Moses finished with a championship ring and a NBA finals trophy won with his Philadelphia 76ers teammates in 1983, also being named the NBA Finals MVP that year.
