Mayor Dave Bing

Congratulations to new Detroit Mayor, and former Detroit Piston, Dave Bing.  Let's hope he can make a difference in a great but struggling city.

With his election, and the recent election of Kevin Johnson as mayor of Sacramento, the conversation around the office this morning is about what former athlete would we like to see as mayor of Philadelphia.  We've decided on Dave "The Hammer" Schultz.  No explanation necessary.

How about you?  What former athlete would you like to see in charge of your city?

If elected Mayor of Cincinnati, I would bring this great city out of the recession by promoting its tourism and pouring more money into the tourism and entertainment budget. I would make Cincinnati like a bigger and better Las Vegas.

I would like to see The Hammer, World B. Free and Dawn Staley all up in the mix.  Except I would like to put the kibosh on the high button jackets that World rocks, pre oath of office.

Hands down, Allen Iverson.  The real debate is which city would benefit most from 'the answer'.  I wonder if he would still host press conferences in his uniform...

Bake McBride.  The end.  If Bake can't hook it up... Lenny Dykstra.  Problems with the budget?  Um, not if you don't pay people like Dykstra doesn't.  We'll be out of the red in no time!

I over heard this call today:
Manny Ramirez: Devil, with all my newly found free time, I want to run for Mayor of Los Angeles.
Scott Boras: Manny, I really wish you stopped calling me the Devil.
Manny: Sorry, Lucifer, can you make this happen?
Scott: (frustrated pause) I will give Arnold a call today to see what we can work out.
Manny: Cool. But if he offers anything less the $25 million a year, tell him to forget it.
