Mr. Clutch Gets Immortalized, Again

Jerry West was first immortalized with this

Yesterday the Lakers and the Staples Center decided to honor him once again with a beautiful new statue that will join Magic Johnson, Chick Hearn, Wayne Gretzky and Oscar De La Hoya on the grounds around the Lakers home.  Check out this vide for some great stuff from Kareem, Magic, Elgin Baylor, Pat Riley and others.

We think the quote below from Jerry himself sums up this NBA legend.

"I never did anything in my life for recognition. A lot of people who were around would probably say that, even some connected with the Lakers. But that's not what I work for. I work because it was the love of my life. It was a thing that allowed me the opportunity to have an education and more importantly in basketball let me have a career."

Congratulations Mr. West, much deserved.
