On This Date In History: Sports Comedy Classics

These two clips aren't really Mitchell & Ness or sports history related, but in the world of popular culture, they're giants.  Here's a perfect way for you to kill a few minutes as you stare at the clock waiting for the weekend to begin.

On this date in 1898 Bud Abbott was born.  Bud was half of the the classic comedy duo of Abbott & Costello.  Their classic bit "Who's on First" stands the test of time and has become part of the lexicon of baseball.  Check it out below.

Also on this date but in 1950, the Peanuts comic strip debuted in several newspapers.  Lucy pulling the football from Charlie Brown was not in that first strip, but here it is for your viewing pleasure.
