Last week a couple of us took a trip to visit our friends at Grey Flannel Auctions. In case you don’t know, Grey Flannel Auctions is an industry leader in sports memorabilia auctions and appraisals. They help us a lot with our reproduction of vintage jerseys and have a wealth of information that they are always willing to share with us.
They have a new auction happening soon and we wanted to check out some of the great stuff that will be up for sale so off to Westhampton, NY we went. We were able to see some amazing game worn uniforms and of course we want to share with you some of what we saw.
Late 1970's UCLA Bruins Warm - Up
1968 - 69 Wilt Chamberlain Jersey (Note the spots of blood on the "S" of the Lakers logo.)
Late 1970's Dick Vermeil Staff Jacket ( We love the "DV" handwritten on the neck label.)
1972 - 73 Julius Erving Virginia Squires Jersey (We love the inside labeling on this and found it interesting that this jersey was made in Philadelphia by Pearson Sporting Goods.)
1992 - 93 Larry Johnson Jersey (Notice that the "J" is larger than the rest of the letters. We don't know why it's this way but we thought it was interesting.)
1970 - 71 Philadelphia 76ers Warm - Up Jacket
John Wooden Staff Jacket
Roberto Clemente 1959 Vest (Yeah, this one pretty much blew our minds.)
Pretty amazing stuff, don’t you think? We were in awe of what we were able to see and touch. We can’t thank Matt and Darren enough for their time and hospitality.
