The Takeover by Derek Jeter

Slowly but surely Derek Jeter is taking control of the Yankees record book.  He's passed legendary names like Ruth, Mantle, DiMaggio and Mattingly in a number of categories.  If all goes as planned, he will reach another milestone in the next couple of days.  He needs only nine hits to take the record for number of hits by a Yankee.  He will take the title from Lou Gehrig.

In our business we are often nostalgic for days gone by.  Before steroids, outlandish contracts and pools in the outfield.   Sometimes we have to remember that some of the games greatest are playing now.  Derek Jeter is one of those guys.  Check out this article from the New York Times and let us know your thoughts on Derek and his place in the history of the Yankees.
